a small blue flag

the curb circumscribes
the pavement abuts an
alloyed frame &
the glass with see-through tint;
the glass was on a beach
was mined...
was a hole in the ground, was close
to a shrub
once
a succulent.
a small blue flag succumbs
to scalding UV, scrambling
polymeric chains: they dance
till heat death; scabbing,
cloud-concrete crumbling;
paint on fire,
lungs in manganese smoke,
i remember
the ceramic on the minefield.
